Howard, I bought Swoose from Hank Curtis in 1996 and she spent that snowy winter in Hank’s slip. I sailed her to Port Townsend in April 1997. Small world.

How about a very small wheel, only slightly larger diameter than the Autohelm pulley with a detachable annular extension that can be clipped/unclipped from the small installed wheel. In and out of Harbour/Anchorage under power, use the little wheel?

Maybe, but I think I’ll have to get used to climbing up the thwart and dropping back on the sole to get by the wheel.

FYI, a Lewmar 32" folding wheel is currently on sale at Canadian marine store for just Cdn$960. I’ve been thinking about buying a folding wheel, and this is the best deal I’ve found. Check out marineoutfitters.ca.
