Autoprop on 324

Anyone have problems with autoprop refit? Seems very heavy and my strut failed. Perhaps there is a connection. Comments?

I installed an auto prop in 05. After 15 years it needed to be rebuilt.
A failure on my part to properly lube one of the blades resulted in pitting of an inner race. AB marine could not guarantee it would not run rough after rebuild.
I elected to buy a new one. It was installed today.
I’ve never had a discernible problem with the strut or any other issues.
I admit, I never realizes how heavy it is until I took delivery of the new one.

Thanks, yes it turns out that my autoprop was superseded by yours. Water cooled with no lube. I put the original prop back on and found that the driving and reverse performance is poor now in comparison. However, the noticeable “chunk” when put in gear is gone. Just paid for a new strut and the yard believes the autoprop to be the the culprit. They also warned of potential transmission problems with continued use. Ahhh. I’m sending it in today for rebuild. Probably put it back on. It’s a spoiler
