Has anyone had a Bow Thruster installed?
I have been looking at the POD type that hangs just below the bow in a pod.
There is also the tunnel design, but I do not know if there is enough room for it.
I am open to ideas.

I have a 5hp Sidepower bow thruster mounted in a tunnel in my 30U. It’s a tight fit but it’s in there and works amazingly well. There’s a plywood platform built over it to protect it from the anchor chain. The Nonsuch factory was still running when the thruster was installed and they approved the installation plans adding that the tunnel would add strength to the bow of the boat. It runs off the main battery bank with cables running forward to the thruster.
It’s too bad it can’t be mounted deeper in the hull as I have noticed some cavitation in a rough sea. It has gotten me out of more than one tight marina and I find it lessens your boat handling skills unless you switch it off from time to time.
It was in the boat when I purchased it but I understand it was a very costly installation. The thrusters are easy to buy but expensive to install.
