Wow, I love the idea of doors. Jim K, do you know who made yours? I might spring for a pair in Little Wing.

Thanks Ko,
We really like the acrylic panels in the bottom of the doors. They let in a lot of light and we can still have our ventilation with the screened louvers inn the top panel. Plus since they are low in the cockpit we maintain our privacy while at the dock.
I had them custom made to my specs by a shipwright at Pettit Marine LLC in Olympia WA. That gentleman has moved on from there and I don’t know where he is otherwise I gladly provide the contact info. The boat had a set of doors that came with it when I bought it, but they were solid wood and didn’t have louvers. To install louvers I had to change the geometry of the opening of the top panel to that of a rectangle. So we started from scratch. I also had to make the pieces that the louvers mount into. The boat also came with a set of hatch boards with louvers in the upper panel. I used the pieces that the louvers mount into from those hatch boards to make a mold and then poured resin to make the additional louvers mounts needed for the louvers in the top panels of the doors. You can’t buy those pieces anymore. I think that CNC machines are used now to mill the wood that makes up louver assemblies today. Anyway it was quite a process just doing that.
However If you just want the acrylic in the lower panels and you have a set of doors you can probably disassemble them and replace the bottom panel with acrylic. If not I can take some rough measurements off mine and send them to you. Let me know.
Cheers!
