Director compensation

So instead of highjacking the Flying conversation I felt a need to add a comment or two with this new topic.

If you really want the big bucks I’m looking for a replacement.. You can drink all the coffee you can buy, along with other liquid refreshments. I will admit the Board is treated well when we meet face to face but that was Corona killed this year. Fortunately we only allow Directors mess up for 9 years or less and then they can get back to messing up their own boats.

Joe is doing well keeping this site in order.

With the idea of continuing to bring new support into the INA administration you will read in the next E-News and Update that Joe has passed on the operation of the Tank Replacement Program. Another job well done for the past few years.

You will also hear about some other changes in our administration but there is still more to do. All this to say we appreciate the volunteer efforts of our members in operating the INA endeavours. With your support we can continue to operate with those stepping forward able to assist for a period of time and then getting back to messing with their boats. Email ina@nonsuch.org if you are interested in lending a hand for a while. I will buy you a coffee when we meet face to face.

Good grief !!

Look what I started. I actually don’t care if Joe is (somewhat) overpaid. I am just glad (and proud, frankly) to belong to the very best owner association out there. If that means overpaying the directors, well, so be it.

I am not the only one who feels this way about the INA. Check out the brand-new September/October GOOD OLD BOAT. A lot of the issue is devoted to our wonderful Nonsuches and freestanding masts, etc. On page 8, there is a mention of the INA and I quote " Their discussion forum is exceptionally helpful and above average in civility". We ARE a most civil group.

Our board is, in my humble opinion, terrific. Hopefully, Ted’s salary can be increased such that he is persuaded to stay on for quite a while (along with Joe … and all of the others).

I’ll sign off by saying ‘thanks’ to all of you fine folks who keep this organization humming along - I appreciate it.
