Good source electrical (and other) components

Hello All -

There was a small gathering of Nonsuch owners (15 of us) at a diner in Norwalk, CT yesterday afternoon. Thanks again to Gary Forster of S/V Aloki for organizing/coordinating this get-together.

Among numerous topics discussed, I mentioned that I use a source for a lot of my electrical components (wire, switches, recent bilge pump purchase). I believe it was Thor Powell who suggested it to me several years ago, and it has worked well for me. Yesterday’s group suggested that I post the name on Discourse, so here it is.

The shop is El Capitan, based in the Miami, FL area, though most of what they sell is on their website, and their prices are usually better than other chandleries (but don’t tell them that!). For me in New Jersey, they don’t charge tax (shhhhhhhhh!) and shipping over $99 is usually free (not hard to reach $99 in the cart these days…).
Website is: https://elcapitan.com/

On two separate occassions in past years they contacted me after the order was confirmed to say an item was out of stock, and simultaneously issued a refund. Once I waited until the part was re-stocked which turned out to be considerably longer than their estimate (supply chain issues), the other time, which was this winter, again, the refund was immediate, but I had to source the part elswhere. OK, but the savings on the rest of the parts more than made up for having to re-source, pay a higher price, shipping and tax.

Hope you find this useful!

Ordering some electrical items I checked with the site you suggested . They were cheaper on this site ! $100. Is easy to Rack up buying parts.
