Mast bracket for wishbone hanger

I noticed that one of the screws fastening the brackets for the wishbone hangers to the mast had started to back out on my 1985 NS 30C. This was frustrating as I had tightened them two years ago and used locktite (blue) to secure them. I had a friend go up to look and he advised me that 3 of the 4 on both sides of the mast were loose. We tightened them, again using locktite hoping to get through the season. My friend suggested using a helicoil to fasten them. Has anyone experienced this problem and how was it remedied? I left the mast up last winter, so I’m thinking the constant vibration is breaking down the locktite or elongating the docking holes.Thank you

I’m not sure if this applies to your mast but the hanger pad eyes on many were through the sleeved part of the mast where there are two aluminum tubes. If there is any movement between these parts it can affect these bolts.

There are many discussions about mast joint repair on this list. MikeQuill makes a kit to fix the joint.
