Ken,
On the off chance you did not know, Winchers are available in different sizes from Binnacle. product_info.html

No problem with using the drill/winchbit and my dodger.

Good to know, Mike. You don’t have a problem with clearance with your dodger using a regular drill?

Dick, glad to hear you find the wincher on a regular winch works well because that would be the simplest and cheapest option for me. So I was going to try that first.

Thanks Mark. I love The Binnacle and have spent way too much there this year but I can get them at Defender for about $56 usd so will probably go with them.

I finally made it to the boat and my storage locker. Rummaging around, I found the winch – it’s a 27-ST 2-speed, which is larger than the one you were looking for. So, let me know your thoughts.

Richard

Hi Richard,

I couldn’t find specs on the winch but I think it would work fine. I have lots of room to mount it. The winchers aren’t working for me so I would like to get a self tailing.

Ken:

OK; it will likely be early September before I’ll return to storage, pick up the winch, and ship it to you. How do you want it shipped and how much insurance? I’ll send you the shipping fee quote before hand, so you can drop me a check. If any questions, let me know.
