Waterline

I imagine back in 1988 Astray floated very nicely on her waterline. Since then both she and I have gained weight. Mine from Fat Tug, a west coast IPA brewed on Victoria by Driftwood. (Totally worth the weight gain by the way!) Her, from a dingy on davits, an additional water tank, a whole lot of cruising gear, and a well stocked icebox and wine cupboard. Hey, I have to store the Fat Tug somewhere! She now sits low enough in the water (salt water no less!) that her boot stripe is partially submerged and attracts a veritable artificial reef of barnacles and mussels. I was contemplating painting the antifouling paint to the top of the boot stripe to slow down the growth at the water line. Is this a bad idea? I saw that Mark had commented in the past that painting over the boot stripe might cause blistering. I certainly don't want that, nor do I want to do something that can't be undone in the future. Any ideas? (Other than jettisoning the beer) Best regards,
Michael Paul
