Attaching anchor Nonsuch 26

Hi,
Is there a loop or something in the anchor locker to attach the anchor ride to the boat?
We tied it off unsatisfactorily last season.
We think the Bruce 12 kg anchor and 16 feet of chain is not enough but would need to install a windlass if we upgrade anchors and use 26 feet of chain.
Please advise. I have read previous posts on anchor size and amount of chain and think we need an upgrade,
Suggestions appreciated, thank you.

I’ve always tied mine to the mast.

Tie it to the mast …

50 to 100 feet of chain and 200 feet of rode… chain size depending on the windlass 1/4 to 5/16 rode 1/2 ..

Terry,
I have a ring in the chain locker that the end of my rode attached to (on about 8 feet of a smaller rope for ease of cutting it free). The ring was backed with big washers and through-bolted to the bulkhead at the aft end of the chain locker, but for all that, I certainly wouldn’t trust it to hold any real weight/load.

Mine is tied to that big, round, aluminum thingy.

Hi,
Thanks all for the input. We tied the anchor rode to the mast last year, too, just seemed a bit odd. We are leaning toward installing Lewmar windlass and upgrading remainder based on listserv suggestions, as a mutual anniversary gift.

Hi Terry

I’m just wondering if you’ve tried a Rocna anchor upgrade vs the Bruce?
