My 26 Ultra once had a bowsprit anchor roller, based on old photos, but now it does not. I’m considering ordering one from Doug Gierula at Klacko.
In Maine, we tend to use moorings and anchor mostly, dockage is pretty uncommon. For those with this setup, how do you like it? When on anchor, how do you run the anchor line? Seems like a choice of stressing the anchor roller or potential chafe on the rode from the anchor roller.
I recently cut the hoop portion off my Paperclip. The Rocna anchor was essentially trapped in the hoop and it didn’t sit right in the roller, kinda droopy looking. I’ve now taken the anchor off the bow and tucked it in behind the mast. These boats have enough weight up there without hanging another 22 pounds off the bow. The roller assembly itself seems to work very well.
