I'm new to our 33 and wonder about how others use the hatch over the engine in the cockpit. Is it a casual thing for regular maintenance? Is refitting it a nightmare?

Don't know about the 33 but use the one on my 30u to access the oil filler cap and glow plug wiring etc.

I use the cockpit sole hatch regularly for maintenance access. The hatch cover is not difficult to handle and I sometimes remove the angle aluminum bar that straddles the hatch opening so that I can access the engine front more easily than climbing down the side locker.
