Back in the fall I posted a request for companionway boards. A fellow called me from Florida but lives in New Jersey and told me the following. He lost his NS 30 in Sandy but before the boat was wrecked he had made new companionway boards he would sell to me. He said he would get back to me when he returned to NJ. If you see this please call or email me. If anyone else knows who this is please give me his name and I will contact him. Thanks
Or…Make tinted lexan boards the same size as the original wood ones.
They are strong, and admit light (always a blessing in a closed cabin)
If you use smoked lexan, you can easily see out, but it is hard to see in.
I used P&A Plastics, a plastics company in Hamilton, Ontario, and I am very pleased.
They made them the same day, and added a lower, outside lip for the upper board to keep out water.
