Companionway steps, 30C vs 30U

The NS30C has two steps. My wife has a prosthetic leg and finds the big step height a bit tricky, plus no top step around cockpit level. I find it risky to face forward when going in. Can someone describe the 30U steps. I seem to remember 3 steps. Do they work well, and safe? Picture would be nice.

My 30U has two. However, I have seen others with 3.

Hello Alan

I believe my husband Ken may have met you at a LONA dinner night in oakville many years ago.

Irrespective of the number of steps into the cabin, going down face forward is always risky! I train our granddaughter and all on the boat to descend backwards, holding on to the handrails. Just as if they were descending Mount Everest.

Paul? How, where, etc did you get those bifold cockpit doors? Love them.Regards, Gary, Aloki OysterBay, NY

They aren’t bifold, just normal side hinged. I made them to fit from scratch.
