Foot pump

Does anyone have info on the foot pump on the galley? It says “roca” or something like that (conveniently white on white in a small odd font). Ours has started to leak. The options are to simply replace it or rebuild it, but it has those slot screws that need a notch in the centre of the screwdriver. Without a rebuild kit, I am hesitant to open it.

O boy what fun. Good pumps until they go out. A similar wale gusher has the lever going the wrong way.
I bought a rebuild kit and gave it a shot, then discovered because of all the spring tension I needed a special vice to hold it during reassembly. Either that or two pairs of oyster shucker’s hands.

I tried to make a jig that fit in my bench vise but only ended up bending a screw and cracking the pump housing.

I found the identical pump, new, at www.theboatwarehouse.au. for 153.92 AUD !

Happily, the AUD to US exchange rate is a lot better than US to CAN, so visa ended up crediting my account. O yeah, from Australia shipping was 70.00. The pump, 83.92. AUD

Their part number was RWB-519 Galley Foot Pump.

This was in late 2019, so you should probably reconfirm all of this, but rebuilding ? Tough

Good Luck,

I had to replace mine several years ago. I’m pretty sure it’s a Whale Gusher Galley Foot-operated Pump.

However, I vaguely recall that they didn’t stock rebuild kits that worked for me because they’re up to Mark 3 and don’t have kits for the older models.

That turned out to be ridiculously easy. I ended up getting one from amazon by Five Oceans, except the name on it is TMC. Looks like a copy, drop-in replacement but had to cut off the rubber foot pad to fit it through the slot. Thanks for the help.
