I’m having trouble finding a source for 2 micron replacement filters for our original Racor fuel filter. Any sources will be appreciated.

Phil - If your Racor is the primary fuel filter you will want to use a 10 micron. I’m assuming you also have the 2nd filter and 3rd filter on the lift pump. Using a 2 micron filter on the primary is choking the fuel flow to the engine.

The previous owners of my 26C (W-21) and 30U ((W-27) used 2 micro Racor filters. I’ve continued their practice and know others that do likewise. Seems to work fine. Filter may clog earlier but very easy to change.

Yes, I suppose if you’re not having engine trouble it’s fine. Pun intended.
I never had fuel problems on Good News over 20 years . I attribute that to 2 micron filter replaced annually and a diesel additive with every time fuel was added .

My fuel tank was pretty filthy when I first acquired it. I clogged up (2) 10 micron filters in one season. Drained the tank, rinsed it out, and then only put back in clean fuel. No problems since -
I’ve only used a 2 micron in my Racor since I got my boat in 2003 and never had a problem or symptoms of fuel starvation. The Racor part number is 2000SM-OR.

You can find them on eBay . I use 10 m , the Westerbeke lift pump and engine mounted filters are 30m
I believe the Westerbeke manual calls for the second or engine mounted filter to be 2 microns.
