Yesterday - stripped and laid/ secured stack pack down , hoisted delta riding sail , added spectra chafe pennant and lite a cigar. Now we wait. Currently winds are from the east at 25/35k with expected gusts over 40 this evening and tomorrow. What did others do?
I prayed that the wind would go west and keep on going if that doesn’t work I’ll go down Saturday morning and batten down the hatches in light, something a little stronger than a cigar might be called for.

My prayer to change the wind was denied so I came to
Spirit ~Wind and tried to save my old canvas patient Dodger
from getting blown away. Done

We saw localized flooding in Norwalk and high winds, but not as much damage as North Shore of Long Island. Feeling fortunate.
Aloki survived well on her morning , thanks. No damage .
We did see stronger winds than I believe were predicted . I went out each day and witnessed steady 30/40 k with higher gusts. ( highest gust was 74 k recorded at the YC nearby) A number of sloops had their roller furling open up and trash their jibs. We also saw 4 sailboats break loose from their mooring ( due to chafe ) and sail through the fleet taking other boats with them onto the beach.
I credit Aloki with having luck not getting hit and our prep work in dropping the sail , adding the storm riding sail and the spectra chafe line to the mooring.
