How to locate fuel sending unit

I am trying to find a fault in my fuel gauge. The fuse at the gauge is good but I can not find where the sending unit is located.

The sending unit should be on top of the fuel tank near the deepest end, adjacent to the fuel pickup hose to your engine’s fuel filter. At least that’s how mine is set up. If the fuse is okay, then you can check the continuity of the wires using a multimetre. More often than not, it’s a poor ground wire.

Thanks much for your response. However I can not see the top of fuel tank. The only exposed part of the tank is the aft end. Any ideas?

So after ripping out badly thought our shelves that someone installed I did locate the sending unit just aft of the batteries in the small starboard cabinet.

Tested the gauge and at the sending unit and I now believe that sending unit is faulty. All the wiring checked out. Thanks for your thoughts.
