Interesting item for sail

I’m sorry, gang, it’s a 30C. I can direct you to a website that it’s listed on if you’re interested

At that price, if it’s in OK shape, what a bargain. Worth the cost of shipping to darn near everywhere.

My first thought is the cost of buying a new mast at $15,000 to $20,000.

Be sure and get a quote from Klacko (klackospars.com) before you offer on it. Costs have skyrocketed on many things. I was recently talking to an employee there at Klacko about something else and curiously asked how much a new mast would cost for my boat. He guessed about $45,000, but emphasized that it was not a quote.

I don’t know how big an NS30 mast is, but I doubt if mine is that much larger.

And I think that’s just the mast, ready to be setup by the rigger…

Joe - What is the story on the mast ? I’m not going to buy the boat but I, like many others, are curious. Can you post the link to the website ?

Thanks,

Responding to Brian’s implicit question: a Nonsuch 30 mast is 53’-3" from end to end, a Nonsuch 33’s is 58’-9".

These numbers provided by the designer, and are available on the website.

I haven’t personally verified it, but I’ve heard claims that aluminum and carbon fiber masts are now roughly comparable in cost.

There’s nothing wrong with the mast that I know of. The rigging needs total replacement.. Engine runs fine.

Last time I spoke to Danny Kalaco he had an unclaimed 30 mast on hand…

Hi:
What is the listing for the $7K Nonsuch? I have a friend in CT who wants to get a boat together to race and cruise. Is there any structural damage to the boat?

So what you were saying Joe is that if someone needed a mast for a 30C this boat would be a deal for the mast alone?

Absolutely, Brian.
