We have a NS30U here in Eastern NC that may go to the wreckers. It has a very nice W-27 with only 600 hours on it and runs fine. Batteries are about 3 years old. It is a complete boat with a usable sail. It was brought to the Duck Creek Marina in New Bern under it’s own bottom about 3 years ago and has been sitting hauled out since. Anyone have any interest??

How is the mast? Klacko told me that they are no longer making Nonsuch masts. You don’t say what’s wrong with the boat that makes it unsellable, but if it must be scrapped it seems like someone should get the mast and store it until needed by another boat. Even if Klacko were still making them I think a new one would cost around $50K USD. Used engines are all over the place, but any NS mast is rare
I also think the INA should get all specs and drawings for all of our masts and accessory parts. Klacko told me that the mast tubes were made by a flagpole company. I contacted one, just out of curiosity, and they were willing to quote me on a tube. The rest of the mast would require a lot of other work, but could be done if we had design documentation.
Then hopefully someone can snag it if they do scrap the boat. It’s probably worth as much as the rest of the boat. Or will be the next time someone loses theirs.
Of course it would be even better if someone would adopt the boat and keep it alive. Seems like a usable 30U at a nearly scrap price would be quite a prize for someone with that unusual combination of patience, energy, and a steady income that it would take to bring it up to snuff.

I don't have any photos, John. I'm trying to find the original listing from
the broker. Between you and me, the gentleman that owns it has turned down
offers and is just tired of dealing with it. He trucked it down here from
NJ about 5 or so years ago and sailed it once. I wouldn't hesitate to clean
up the boat and launch it. He never hesitated to spend money on it and a
mechanic did go through it about 4 years ago along with new batteries,
charger, wiring, etc. I know of no reason why it can't be splashed and
sailed. The boat is in a yard owned by a friend and neighbor of mine about
45 minutes from me in New Bern, NC.
This fits the description of a Nonsuch 30, Redemption, listed on the INA Marketplace posted on Feb 18 by Alan Asher.
Could that be it, Joe?
If so, interested parties should go to www.Nonsuch.org, click on the MARKETPLACE tab, select " Nonsuch 30(s) & 324(s) for sale" and scroll down until you see it.
