mast track

Just noticed that the mast track on our Nonsuch 30 has slipped down by about 8". Wondering if there is anyone out there who has experienced this and thought s on how this happened.

Can you give us your name and where you are?? Also, what type of track is it??

Hi Joe,

Our boat Cathartic Nonsuch 30, #38, is in Toronto at Ashbridges Bay Yacht Club. The track is on the outside of the mast, black plastic, don’t know more than that.

It sounds like you have a Tides Strong Track. This is a track that slides over your original stainless steel one that is screwed to the mast. Usually, there is a screw at the bottom to keep it from sliding down. Drop the sail slugs out of the track and you should be able to slide it back up and replace the missing screw. https://www.tidesmarine.com/

The original sailtrack was a fairly flat 7/8" stainless steel piece. If the track’s plastic and sticks out more than 1/4", and/or if you can see any signs of the original track at the top, then that would be more evidence for Joe’s guess.
