I’m not sure everyone knows about the marketplace on Nonsuch.org (probably because you have to go check rather than get updated like the Google group does) but it doesn’t seem to get much traffic so I thought I might post here to highlight what’s over there. Perhaps there is a way to post a digest of new listings here on the google group once every few weeks…
I’m a particular fan of this since I purchased my Nonsuch in 2014 and saw a listing for a teak cockpit grate that had been listed on there for months and I assumed was probably long gone. Only to contact the owner and hear that nobody had ever responded and it was still in their garage (now its in my cockpit and has traveled all over the east and west coasts and throughout MX under my feet
Recently I listed a couple of items over there in the Items for sale section, that I would like to draw to the communities attention before I have to get them off my plate in a landfill or to a junk yard.
On each of the individual ad category pages, there’s a button to click in light blue that says, “Subscribe to Forum”. This lets someone set up notifications to their individual email when a new ad’s posted. I have that set up so I get those notices on my personal account. For example, when two items were posted on “Items for Sale” on May 18, I got an email that day.
I suppose it might be possible for us to set it up so that the Discussion group automatically gets those updates, too.
BUT…that might be considered a violation of the current Discussion Group policies. Right now, we ask members to use the website and not post to the group because of concerns about cluttering the group with ads and responses to them.
Since such a notice would just point to links on the Nonsuch site, maybe it wouldn’t be so bad. But, that’s not for me to say.
Why don’t people for/against the idea comment on this thread? The moderators could take it up after there’s some sense of how participants would feel about it.

This plug for the Marketplace on www.Nonsuch.org having been brought back to the fore, let me:
Renew my May 2021 plug for using the Subscribe feature (a blue button on every Market category that says, “Subscribe to Forum”) to ensure that you get instant email notification of any new ads for the boat sizes or items for sale that you want to know about.
Ask people whose offerings have sold to PLEASE go back and remove them. I tried to check on old ads, but the volume of ads in items for sale was more than I could keep on top of.
