After removing the sink I thought let’s replace it , but Polar doesn’t seem to make that one anymore and it’s just not practical to have ju$T one made. Searching the web , my wife found practically a perfect drop in replacement which I share here. Original roughing hole of the sink is 10”x 14.25” x 10 “ deep. This sink is 10x14x10. Hope this helps someone, best Gary

Gary,
This is indeed useful information.
Two quick curiousity questions.
What had happened to the original sink that necessitated replacement?
And, how did you handle replacing the drain fitting and connecting it to the thru-hull?
When I wanted to re-route the hose on my previous N26 to make more room underneath, I had a heck of time finding any off-the-shelf fitting(s) that would neck down from the 3.5 inch drain opening to the 1" hose connecting to the thru-hull. I finally gave up and McGyvered my own (which is what it looked like the factory had needed to do, too).

Hi Bob,
Well it seems this was a case of the success out pacing the planning as the sink I removed was in better shape than I expected. Simply assumed I’d replace it because I removed it. Turns out after cleaning it up with “ bartender friend” it looks really quite good. So only the faucet will be replaced.
Far as the drain line connections. I did exactly what you (and one assumes) the builder did.I used a fitting found in a hardware store to marry up the sink connection to this magic fitting. I used a metal epoxy to weld the two together and it’s held for decades. Best, Gary/Aloki
As a sidebar.I replaced the shower head aboard about a year ago with a Scanvik head and enjoyed a surprise. The Scanvik head increased water pressure substantially and as a bonus, reduced the amount of water used as well as allowing the instant hot water heater to work more effectively. I just ordered another for the cockpit shower. It’s worked perfectly since. Link below. Best Gary /Aloki
