Has anyone re-powered their N33 with a Beta Marine 30 or 35?
I repowered in 2022 with a Beta M35 with 2 alternators.
Thx Ward - looking at buying a N33 that needs some engine work, so I’m pricing out a complete exchange as an option. Did you get the Beta Marine gearbox as well?
I did not purchase a transmission from Beta. I used the original transmission for a while. I then replaced the original transmission with a new exact replacement ZF (ZF bought Hurth) V-drive transmission. I found a seller in VA with a good price on the transmission.
All the work other than lifting the engine out/in was DIY.

What is a Beta Marine 30???
My current engine is ok… Shhhhhhhh…. But - my plan is to hold onto this boat/floating RV for the next 15 years, which will make that engine over 50 years old. Not sure how long they were built to last. But when I saw this post, it perked up my ears!

Beta Marine are essentially marinized Kubota engines that many yacht owners use to repower older vessels. I’m in Canada, so our local dealer isn’t much help to you with their website, but the dealer is Seattle has a very good website that describes the product and the why? question very well. betamarineengines.com
