Running New Cables

Hello All

My boat doesn’t have a chart plotter or depth sounder, so this winter I purchased a Raymarine Element chart plotter and transducer. I was hoping to mount the chart plotter on the pinnacle (in front of the wheel and compass). I’m looking for suggestions on how to run the transducer cable and power cable to the plotter. I was hoping to drill a hole in the pinnacle (just below the auto helm cable) and feed the cables into the pinnacle and under the cockpit sole. Has anyone tried to feed cables through the pinnacle? Note: the transducer plug is quite large, and I’m not sure if there’s enough room in the pinnacle stack for it, and the power cable.

Yes, I have the power cable for my Axiom GPS, an NMEA spur cable and my bow thruster switch wiring running up through my binacle. I was able to use existing holes under the cockpit for entries and just one exit hole in the front of the binacle. It’s a bit of a challenge to get a grommet that’s fits well. I’m still looking but te chafe factor is minimal while I’m looking.
Unfortunately I don’t have a decent picture but I can take one this afternoon.

I’m not sure how big your plugs are but here a couple of pix of what I have. I’ve removed the table for a better view. It normally hides the mess.:joy:
The bow thruster control is permanently mounted but the others have some slack to allow quick connects and disconnects.

When I converted my 1986 30U to electric propulsion I used an idea I saw in a Nonsuch Update that makes running wires to the helm very easy. Also makes adding new ones very easy. https://biankablog.blogspot.com/2011/03/running-wires-to-helm.html
