Good morning! My family had a Nonsuch 26 classic for ~10 years in Maine – sold awhile ago – and considering a Nonsuch 26. Curious if you are a Nonsuch 26 owner in New England (coastal or lake!) who may be willing to take three people for a little test-sail! We are curious how it feels in comparison to the 30 before trying to buy one.
Amiable crew
Just wanted to post a public thank you to David D in Boothbay Harbor who welcomed my family for a sail on his Nonsuch 26 Ultra “Jade” yesterday! A very generous offer to take us out, a lovely boat, and after ~10 min we were quickly convinced that a 26 is the way to go for our needs (vs. a 30, my parents’ previous boat).
We’re now on the hunt for a 26 along the East Coast, Great Lakes or Lake Champlain! I’m reviewing official listings though give me a shout if for some reason you have the urge to sell this fall
And, anyone responding to Amanda re a boat for sale, please do it via a private response and not a post on this discussion group. (This said in my role as one of the discussion group moderators.)
We’re all happy to help, but there are other channels. The discussion group is not the one where boats sales should be happening. Helping people interested in Nonsuches is why we’re all here, but offering specific boats for sale crosses the line.
Amanda, best wishes on your hunt. You’re right about how nice they are. However, enough things change in enough people’s lives that there’s almost always someone who wants to sell theirs despite that. If you want one, you’ll surely find one. There are currently eight listed on the INA Marketplace.
