Has anyone installed the manual SL 555 Sea Tiger windlass on their Nonsuch 26? I have a line on a good used one and am interested if anyone has good advise!

Check which chainwheel the 555 that’s being offered comes with. Most of them are set up for 8 mm or 10 mm chain (and the inch equivalents), which could be oversized for a 26 ft boat.
If the windlass was built for that kind of chain diameter, you can assume the same applies to the windlass itself — it’s probably too big and too heavy for your boat.

I have the 555 on my NS30 and it works fine. Good point to check the chain matches otherwise you’re buying new chain too.
