Sourcing Flush Ring Pulls - 2025 SV Soave

Hi All,

While waiting for my new fairlead collar, I decided to tackle a minor project of replacing flush mount ring pull in Soave’s head that was badly corroded.

Tip… minor rarely means minor on boats.

I don’t know if the same fixture is used in other Nonsuch boats but figured I’d share the approach I used and some of the caveats.

( HERE ) is an album with pictures and captions.

Abridged version… Found a near match on Amazon, replacement was a bit more effort than expected. If I were to do it again I would probably wait to the off season and enlarge the recess pocket so I could use a “true” marine grade pull.

I guess I still have that option… less the time spent futzing $16 spent on the cheap replacement.

oops… forgot my signature line…

Looks good right now. Original looks like chrome plated bronze. I think most hardware of this type came from Perko back in the day. Didn’t have Internet access to every part in the world, much less Amazon.

Thanks Brian,
I’ll add Perko to my sourcing list.

Maybe someday we should put our heads together and publish a list of sources that we like for parts.

This part is indeed in the Perko catalog … 0841DP0CHR

I’ll add this to the info in the album.

Should have checked in with the brain trust before I started.

I found a Perko pull on Amazon that was an exact fit for my 30U.

Hi Charles,
The reason why this didn’t come up in my earlier searches is that the product dimensions are incorrectly listed as 3" x 4" on amazon.

The correct dimensions are buried in the detailed description… lesson learned.

Thanks,

Yeah, a lot of the time the dimensions that they list on Amazon are the packaging dimensions, not the item’s actual dimensions.
