The starter switch on my 82 W13 is failing. It almost always requires some fiddling before it will turn. Is there a suitable substitute available?
Many thanks.

Is this the original switch that came on the boat?? Does if have the following positions – Off-On-Start and how do you activate the glow plugs, with that switch or a separate one??

I think it is the original Switch. Positions are Off-On-Start. Push the switch in to activate the glow plugs.
I have the same ignition as what you are describing. It’s a OFF-ON-START, with push in the heat the glow plugs, (if desired).
The part number has been changed to #24777. If you can find one, it’s about $75.
There doesn’t seem to be many instrument panels with this configuration. Catalina and Niagara sailboats used them for a few years. Personally I like the one key setup.
