I know it’s summer but maybe there are those in the group that have recommendation on cover solutions for winter. I gone through numerous tarps, covers and frame setups all of which have never worked well or lasted more than 2 winters. In total I’ve probably invested more than what the “ultimate” solution may have cost. Any ideas, photos, sources, recommendations on this are appreciated. I’m trying to plan ahead this season.
I purchased one for my 1981 Nonsuch 30. From Shipshapecanvas@ me.com two years ago. If I can figure out how to add a photo I will. The cover has gone through two of the worst winters Duluth has had in recorded history. Over 120 and 130 inches of snow and winds well in excess of 50 mph. Boat completely dry inside and and the deck was clean. Their web site works well and has several pictures of covers and other information. They made templates of the boat so they have a real good start. I store mine with the mast down. The wishbone lays on pads on the deck and mast is stored separately. The cover he made does have a mast sleeve already built in. This gives me the option of storing it with the mast up if I wanted. The. Frame is a simple ridge, 2/8 and line and ratchet straps, cost less than $100. Cover was $1400 or so. But that is between you and the canvas store if you choose to contact them. Takes a couple of 60 + men under an hour to pit up and take down. This is a local company here in Duluth Mn. They make a bunch of covers and sell all over North America.
Could not figure out how add pictures please, drop me a note if you need pictures. brandt548@gmail.com
