I had a blooper that came with the boat and I am still disappointed just how ineffective it was. Narrow at the foot and hoisted 40 off feet to the top it was hardly worth effort as over 9 K apparent the bow would be diving to a point I almost asked Deb to raise the periscope…
In light air it was shadowed by just the stowed main. So all in all a failure. No pole so it would just collapse in light air, just when I needed it.
Got this picture from Lin Pardy of Talisman fame. Basically a reacher/ code zero with the clew run to a snatch block on the end of the boom. Talisman being a channel cutter she had a long boom like our boats.
I was curious if anyone has tried a code zero or even a kite rigged
in this fashion…
