Does anyone know the boom diameter of a Nonnsuch 26? I am not at the boat, can’t find the information on the INA site.
Thanks

Randy,
Mike Quill might know, contactable through the INA MEMBERS tab, MAINTENANCE option.
Mark Ellis might also, contactable through his website, https://www.markellisyachtdesign.com/
Klacko Spars was probably the manufacturer, so they may also know: https://klackospars.com/mast-extrusions.html, 905-825-0015
However, the mast tapers, so you’ll need to clarify at what point(s) on the mast you need the diameter(s).
If you let us know what you find out, I’ll see that it gets added to the website.

How critical is the measurement? My brother said it is approximately 11" in circumference so dia approx. 3.14"
If you need more precise measurements I am planning to head down to the boat tomorrow.

Checked the boom today. Came in at the 3 1/2” dia.

I checked the diameters today on a 26 and a 30 with a large caliper.
The diameter of the 26 boom is 3 and 5/8 inches.
The diameter of the 30 boom is 4 and 1/8 inches.

Randy,
That make’s perfect sense. I wonder if the 33 and 36 wishboom are progressively larger also. Probably.

I have seen a Nonsuch 22 a couple of times. The boom on the 22 seems noticeably smaller in diameter perhaps 2 inches or maybe 2 1/4 inches. So I guess it would make sense that bigger Nonsuch as have bigger diameter tubes. However, I’m wondering, if the larger boats really need the bigger diameter tubes.
My measurements were taken using a $10 caliper that I bought HarborFreight. If I’m reading the tool correctly, then my measurements should be pretty accurate. I took some pictures at the top at that time. I will see if I was reading the device correctly.
Nope, I screwed up. The Nonsuch 26 has a boom tube diameter of 4 inches. The Nonsuch 30 has a boom tube diameter of 4 1/2 inches.
If someone else wants to verify this just for giggles, please feel free to do so.
I don’t have a caliper with a deep enough through to measure a large diameter so I crudely measured the circumference with a tape measure at about 12-1/2 inches. 12.57 circumference divided by Pi 3.1416 is 4”. So my 30U wishboom is 4”
What is yours 33’s and 36’s?

My 33 boom circumference made with a piece of string was 14 5/8” - close to 4.6” diameter which I will check with my calipers.

The numbers that I recently sent to the forum are incorrect. This is due to a failure to correctly. Read the caliper on my part. The tool functioned well I’m just used to using a digital device and my big clunky HarborFreight caliper is manual. It does, however, allow me to get the diameter of fairly large Objects.
The boom diameter on my 82 Nonsuch 26C is 4 inches.
The boom diameter on my friend’s 86 Nonsuch 30U is 4 and a half inches.
I apologize for the error. I grew up analog, but digital tools have made me lazy.
