DC distribution panel lights

Hi all,

I have the old Nova panel, I think they are quite common for 1985-1986. Does
anyone know where I can purchase these old filament type red indicator
lights? West Marine did them for a couple of years back - I wish I had
stocked up?

Cheers

A lot of things that disappear from the catalog of West Marine are, in fact still available from their east coast and west coast warehouses. Order on line for direct shipment to your home, or, ask a relatively more knowledgeable person in your local store, to search for some stock in another store that can be transferred in to your local store.

Is there a reason you wold not want to replace it with a small led? Much less power drain with more light. Since you are working with 12v, I think you should be fine so long as you get the polarity right. Good luck!

The subject of replacement indicator lamps for the Bass electrical panel comes up every so often. Radio Shack in the US carries an LED lamp that is a perfect replacement for the 12v breaker panels indicators:

The Radio Shack part number for the red LED assembly is #276-270. It costs $1.99 and has a built-in resistor. The specs are 12VDC (14.0 max), 15mA, 33mcd, and fits 9/32" mounting hole.

I’ve been using these lamps for years, and besides the low cost, they are a lot cooler and use much less power than the original incandescent lamps.

Green (276-271) and orange (276-272) are also available. To go to the Radio Shack web site, CLICK HERE.
