Hello fellow Nonsuch owners,

I have decided that it is time to replace the original Datamarine Speed and Depth instruments on Purr Diem. Can anyone tell me if I would be able to use the existing hull fittings or if I will need to change them? If I need to change them, can I use the existing holes without modifications?

Jerome,

It may depend on what you replace it with. I tried to replace an old RayMarine knotmeter with a new RayMarine knotmeter and discovered I couldn’t do even that without replacing the hull fitting. And that was the same manufacturer.

Needless to say, I’m now much less of a fan of RayMarine than I was before.

Without being very careful to check specs on exactly what you have and exactly what you’re considering, it may be hard to determine.
