If I remove the cabin sole near the galley, will that give me access to the ice box drain hose fitting? I have a leak that requires replacing the foot pump, but I'm wondering if it's also leaking where the drain hose attaches to the underside of the ice box. I'd welcome advice from anyone who has tackled this issue before.
Thanks,
I was in that area this Winter when I temporarily refinished my cabin sole. I had a blockage of some sort in the ice box drain and towards the tree way valve. I never found the hose that connects the two except where it connects to the 3 way switch. Bloody knuckles and scrapes up to my elbows were the reward. However the closest I got to it was from the forward, removable part of the cabin sole. But, you have an Ultra and I have the other. May be a difference. I suggest that if you know that your pump is bad, just replace it and don't worry about the other unless you need to. While we are at it, and I know I am not the brightest lightbulb around, why does not the ice box drain right into the bilge? Same question for the shower pump. Now we have these contraptions to lift the water out, drop it into the sink and then into the sea. Why not go straight to the bilge and let the automatic bilge pump take care of it.
Regarding the pump, are you real sure it's bad. There are repair kits available for some pumps.
By the way, I cleared my ice box drain hose, by putting an air compressor hose on it at the three way switch and blew the hell out of the thing. It worked and found the problem to be a small piece of plastic that lodged itself in there.
I recently encountered the same problem. I concluded that the ice box drain must have been installed by HINTERHOLLER before the galley unit was set into the boat. Fortunately the source of the water turned out to be the foot pump! The foot pump is available on Amazon but can't recall the vendor.
