The foot pump that drains the ice chest appears to be leaking. Hose connections look ok, it seems to be internal to the pump. (Because a previous owner installed a Seafrost compressor under the sink,it’s hard to access/see the foot pump.) Are there ready replacements for this pump available? Or a rebuild kit?
I think this may have been discussed recently, but I couldn’t find the thread. If it has and someone could point me to the thread that would be appreciated too.
We have a leak as well, but it appears to be coming from the drain connection at the bottom of the icebox which is impossible to see and really hard to get at.
Any guidance for how to get at and fix that connection?
And, our foot pump needs replacement as well, thanks very much for your recommendation.
Defender Ind. waterford ct has them I replaced mine a few years back.

David,
Can’t help you to get to the fitting, but I keep a hand mirror on board. Handy for seeing into those spots hidden in inconvenient nooks. A cell phone picture might also be helpful for you.

Bob,
Good suggestion on the hand mirror. Another useful tool is a handheld video inspection scope. They are pretty cheap...not as cheap as a hand mirror...but only about 100 bucks. Only needs a small hole to get into a space. I bought one to use to see inside the walls of my house during renovations, but have also used it on the boat. I think now they make ones that just connect to a smart phone and are only $20 or so. I haven't used one of those, so don't know how well they work.

Jim and others,
I had a problem last week with a blockage in the ice box drain line and needed to inspect . Removal of the mid floor panel ie the access to the water tank shut offs gave some visibility ,but only the removal of the port side large floor panel provides good access. N.b I did not remove this one as I found a 100psi air line cleared the obstruction when inserted in the drain . The other end of the at the pump was open .

We had some seepage from under the galley cabinet while cruising in the first 2 weeks of August. Finally figured out that the extremely hot humid weather during that time was causing a lot of condensation on the water lines when pumping through the melt water from the ice box.
