N 26 Mast

I recently bought a Nonsuch 26 and our harbour master is concerned that our old mast crane is not up to the job of lifting it. I have looked through the manual but can’t find a weight for the 26. Wondering if anyone can provide clarification on the actual weight minus the wishbone.
Thanks

We weighed our NS26e mast using bathroom scales and came up with 380 lbs.

Here is a procedure for lifting the mast. The centre of gravity is 21’-5" above the base.

Congratulations, John.

This is a beautiful document.

Thanks you so much John,
I wish my one of the previous owners knew about your wedge trick for that nut, on White O’morn that nut is long gone.

Hi John,
Thanks for this information. I have lifted the mast on my 22 but just purchased a 26 and this information will be very helpful.

Appendices 6.3 and 7.4 in the New Nonsuch Owners Quick Guide on the www.Nonsuch.org website might be helpful. They cover mast removal and re-installation.

Click the MEMBERS tab, then MANUALS, and you’ll see where to get it.

When the mast was pulled on my 26 I asked the crane operator how much it weighed. He said about 300 pounds but advised his scale was not particularly accurate at those small numbers. The crane had analog dials that were marked in 500 pound increments. There is a good chance Tim’s measurement is more accurate than the one I have.
