Nonsuch Registry 2026

All - it is getting on to that time of year where I start to plan the cover for next year’s Registry. Two year’s ago it was one photo that covered both the front and back with a pair of Nonsuches back-to-back. Last year it was Cotton Eye Joe coming (on the front) and going (on the back). Any suggestions for a theme for the 2026 covers will be greatly appreciated/considered.

If you are submitting photos for consideration, they need to be 5.75x 8.75 at 300 dpi (if for just the front or back) or 11.5 x 8.75 at 300 dpi to cover both the front and back.

Thoughts, comments, and submissions to my personal email (it’s in the Registry) or by reply to just me. If you have submitted a phot in the past, I still have it. I suppose you can lobby or bribe - gifts to my favorite charity?

And you are a member of INA with an updated Registry entry on the Nonsuch website, right? If not, you can expect Helen D outside your door . . . . .

Thanks.

All - I am starting work on the Registry for 2026. If you are not a member, you will not be in the book nor have access to it. Your boat may make the fleet list. If you have yet to renew, please do so ASAP so the Registry will be accurate.

Thanks.

The 2026 Registry should be arriving any day now. The cover looks great - thank you Gary Forster for allowing use of your painting and getting permission from the artist.

If anyone has ideas for next year’s cover, please let me know.

I must apologize for a mistake - the odd numbered pages should have been on the left and the evens on the right of a pair when you open the book. They are not. This mean that the Members’ Alphabetical list is difficult to use - the boat name and other second page information for a member is on the back of the page showing name, number and email. Sorry.

I will self-flagellate and put on the hair shirt.

Layout is tricky and a learning experience. IMHO, you shouldn’t self-flagellate too long, and should keep the hair shirt in its wrapper.

(Actually, you might as well just ship the hair shirt to me, since I’ll no doubt have to wear it while I get up to speed on taking over from Phil Wagner on the INA Update: https://nonsuch.discourse.group/t/announcement-for-ina-update-readers-and-contributors/10346.)

Agreed. And you did it, Lloyd. Nobody else did. That’s golden!

From someone that does 20-30 hours a week of volunteer work for our community here in Pender Harbour, I thank everyone else that gives up their time to keep things rolling along. Absolutely no apologies are necessary if it’s not perfectly executed. Don’t like it? Do it yourself next year!

RonB.

And I just now realized that I have completely forgotten to send everyone their E-copies of the Registry! Gotta get to it assap

And I think a note of thanks to Lloyd for putting it all together - again . Thanks !!!

Yes… Thanks Lloyd!

I am wondering if the current PDF version of the member registry could have an extra blank page inserted before the member listings where the member’s data have to be on adjacent (even, odd) pages?

This way if a member uses the two page display setting for pdf files, this issue will self correct.

Also, please note that the member registry should only be shared with INA members out of respect for the privacy of the members.

Very good idea, Helen. I will add the page and then send it to the powers that be to post on the website.

Since Memorial Day looks like it might be rained out and my wife is starting to grouse about us sailing/motoring for 5 hours both ways in the rain (wonder why . . . ), perhaps I will redo the membership portion getting those who joined late. Can you give me an idea of how many additional names I would capture?
