Using the logo

I’d like to redo my nonsuch decals on my boat and make up some allegro shirts. I’m a sign guy and can do such things… when looking for an authentic nonsuch logo I found it’s property of the Nonsuch association and use without permission is a no no. How do I gain such permission?

RonB.

Ron,

I can answer this, because I was the one who handled the transfer of Nonsuch IP ownership from Mark Ellis to the INA.

You can find an article on making the decals by clicking on Members Tips & Projects on the MEMBERS tab of the www.Nonsuch.org. You may need to scroll down a bit to find it.

You can find links to Nonsuch regalia providers under the STORE tab on the website.

If you want to roll your own, INA membership entitles use of the materials as long as it is for solely the non-commercial benefit of yourself or fellow members, and no profit is entailed.

I’ve bought from the regalia providers on the site, and found their stuff quite good, but have also made some stuff of my my own.

Awesome, thanks!

Bob forgot to mention that the first step is to pay me large sums of money.

I looked… the only item available is the burgee.

Also, good information here.

Says… access denied.

Ron,

Assuming that you’ve first opened up www.Nonsuch.org and signed in with your INA membership email and password on a desktop or laptop, you should be able to click on the STORE tab and see something like this:

If you then select, NONSUCH REGALIA, ACCESSORIES & GEAR, you should see a page on custom embroidered Nonsuch Clothing and Gear with your boat’s name and sail number.

If you click on the MEMBERS tab, you’ll see a pop-up like this:

If you click on MEMBERS’ TIPS AND PROJECTS, you’ll get to a page with a long list of them. The link Bob Gerhman sent was to the one I’d mentioned earlier. His didn’t work because you can’t jump there directly from Discourse. You have to be logged onto www.Nonsuch.org and go through there. What you’re looking for is one near the bottom of the page that looks like this:

The reason you have to log onto the website and can’t just jump there from Discourse is that the website is where the line’s drawn between free services and INA member services. The extensive collection information that the INA has assembled over the years is reserved for those who’ve enabled it by paying membership dues.

This Forum’s a free service open to all comers. But neither it nor the rest would be possible if costs weren’t covered by those dues. (If anyone wants to discuss this, we can start a different topic thread on it.)

Looking at the membership directory on the INA website, it appears that Ron is a INA member.

Yup. So, things should be working for Ron.

Ron: are you trying to get to www.Nonsuch.org using a desktop, laptop, or phone? I just tried it on my phone and it seems like the mobile version of the website doesn’t let me get to all the menus offered on the desktop version. Could that be your problem?

– Bob

Definitely works better on the computer than the phone. Thanks for the help!
