NS30 Choker blocks and line

Time to replace the choker tackle. My boat came with very oversized line for this according to the manual. Are the line sizes correct in the manual, and what are the recommended Garhauer blocks for this use?

My experience with this tackle is that if is very susceptible to wear due to the way it lays up against the mast and the heavy load it bears. I would be hesitant to make it smaller. Something that is more resistant to abrasion would be suitable, however.

Perhaps the way to address this question is :

Given that my (old 1984) Nonsuch 30 manual says the chocker should be 7’9” of
7/16” DACRON with eye to single becket block whose working load is at least 2450 lbs;

then we could speculate whether Dyneema (with poly cover) might be better used today ?

or someone could (as usual) say they prefer to have MUCH too large a block ?

Nevertheless my own inherited choker does not seem to age
( each year it seems to need replacement less ),

and I use the Single 40-13 US block on page :

https://garhauermarine.com/catalog_process.cfm?cid=14

and I prefer to lash the block to my boomhead as follows using amsteel :

I do not know what my inherited choker is, but I would guess some 3/8” modern material.

Finally Mike Quill (who sells a complete kit) could say what size and line is used today for the Choker ?

The current line appears to be about half-inch, and I would really like to go back down to the recommendation of 3/8 as listed on page 74 of the Nonsuch 30 Owners Manual posted on the INA site. If it needs to have a greater load capacity than what standard 3/8 double braid would have, that’s fine. I guess I’m just looking for what that number is.
