I continue to have an issue with my oil pressure. I thought I had it cured by removing the sender and cleaning it up. But after an hour or so of operation at about 2500, the pressure fell from around 75 to 25 and the alarm sounded. I dropped the rpms to 1500 and the alarm stopped.
Based on our previous exchanges and review of the electrical schematic and parts catalog, it seems clear there are two senders in play: the oil pressure sender that drives the gauge and the pressure switch sender that is connected to the buzzer. I haven’t done the deep dive yet to put hands on the switch.
It seems to me that since both the gauge and switch operate independently, it is unlikely that the pressure drop is imaginary even if the switch is sounding prematurely at 25 psi.
My next step is to replace the oil filter, although it has only about 25 hours on it. My theory being that there could be a malfunction with the flap that prevents feedback of oil that is restricting flow.
Any thoughts appreciated. As I mentioned earlier, the engine shows no signs of issues otherwise. Plenty of oil, normal temperature and alternator output.
I had a car once with a similar problem. It turned out to be junk in the oil pan that would get sucked up against the sump strainer and close off the oil being picked up by the pump. If you have a w27 the oil pickup does have a strainer on it. https://www.westerbeke.com/Product/STRAINER/030373.
Also you might want to look at changing the oil gage to a mechanical one to eliminate and electrical/ grounding issues. It is pretty straightforward and can be changed back once you see what is happening. You can get a 0 to 100 gage kit for $50.
Good luck.

That sounds like a very promising theory. Will pursue.
