Propeller shaft question

Hi All - Doing some work on the boat while it’s on the hard. I couldn’t find any documentation regarding the propeller shaft down in the water. Trying to figure out if there’s anything to service there. See pic.

Yes indeed Bob. Look up Johnson cutless bearing or just cutless bearing (often misspelled “cutlass bearing”).

You should find lots of items by searching the web and watching videos on Youtube.

Yours may be OK, but chances are good it could stand to be replaced. You have to remove the shaft first to replace the bearing, but it’s not a huge job.
