Rebuilding the 'Beast'

Catnap has the original head and it is time for it to be rebuilt. It has
been at least four years, perhaps even 10, since it has been rebuilt. It is
still working BUT late last season the holding tank did backflow into the
bowl when full and on a tack.

So, what are the pros and cons of rebuilding the head in place or someplace
else?

And, if I run into problems, are there any companies that rebuild WC heads
in New England (if not Connecticut)?

This has come up before. I’ve spent the money and time to rebuild my Wilcox Crittenden. Not happy with the results and went out and for a little more then the rebuilding kit, I purchased a Raritan and am very happy.

This has come up before. I've spent the money and time rebuilding my1986
Wilcox Crittenden, twice. I am happy with the results and feel I have a
superior product. I admit I have no experience with other makes. Some of my
friends are fanatic adherents to the creed, "When it acts up, replace it".
Others of my friends think I did the right thing. You pay your money and
take your pick.
