Removing leaking Jabsco electric toilet and replacing with Manual version

Hello Nonsuchers..
I’m the new owner of a Nonsuch26..The boat arrived in my life with a leaking electric toilet..I would like to remove it and start over with a manual version. I am new to Fiberglass boats.. My question is how do I access the underside of the head enclosure to remove the old toilet and drill and bolt for the new one??? Sure it’s simple but I am currently scratching my head…Thanks for any help…

Hi John -

Welcome aboard. I am certain that your toilet is SCREWED to the base. Those things that look like bolts are, doubtless, simply lag screws. Try “unbolting” one and it should just screw out. The fibreglass base has, I am sure, plywood under it for the lag screws to get a good bite into.

Thank you Ernie…
Of course it’s a Lag Bolt and not a Machine Bolt… on to other issues!!!
Cheers, John
