Replace/refinish sliding cabin access hatch

Anyone successfully polished out the minute scratches that over the years clouds up the view from inside the cabin?

No personal experience, but FWIW, if you have access to Practical Sailor, there’s an article that lists products that are supposed to be good for both hard and soft clear plastics:

I have had great success using the automotive product Meguiar’s Scratch X. It is for removing scratches and blemishes on paint and plastic. I first used it on my car headlight covers and it made a very big difference

Last week i polished my hatch boards and they came out looking like almost like new,. . I use a foam pad with my drill. I put a few dabs of polish on a section of the cover and slowly move the foam pad over the surface. Polishing each board took about 20 minutes. Attached is a picture of the equipment and the results.

Being a …frugal… Canuck, toothpaste and a microfibre cloth works wonders.
