Hi,
Does anyone know the Teleflex shifter and/or throttle cable
part number or the cable lengths? For a NS30U with Edson binnacle
and Westerbeke W27 engine.
Thanks,
Don

Can’t help with the length Don, but check out Felsted cables. They are superior to Morse and Teleflex IMHO. More flexible, smaller bend radius, pull strength, etc.

Don: I had posted a detailed blurb on replacing that cable and the Carquest part number. I just need to find it.

Don: Here’s my email from last year -
Well, I was able to replace the shift cable without removing the pedestal or the wheel mechanism. After removing the shift/throttle part of the pedestal, one must remove the turning wheel below the pedestal to give slack in the chain as opposed to disconnecting the chain or cable. Then lift the chain off of the sprocket and slide if forward. You now have room to pull the bracket (that holds the cables to the pedestal) over to the port side and push it forward. Pull the cotter pin out to release the cables. Replace the cable/s and move the bracket back into its spot on the after part of the pedestal. I still want to throttle (no pun intended) the person who assembled the pedestal without anti-seizing compound that caused at least 12 hours of extra work. The cable/s are Teleflex part number CCX63308 and 8 ft long.

Thanks very much Joe for the part number and length. I have my engine mechanic doing this with my assistance. To get the slack in the chain I loosened off the cables on the quadrant, but marked the studs lengths so can tighten them back to the same place.
Paul, I considered the other cables but mechanic wanted to use Teleflex, plus they are close by to purchase.
Thanks again,
Don
