The original stanchion bases and related metal fittings on my boat are really showing their age. Doubt if it would cost and time effective to have them re-plated so replacement seems the logical choice. Would appreciate any leads for me to pursue to find exact or very close to exact metal fittings such as these pictured.
Sorry, I got excited posting the pix that I forgot my signature block.

Ed,
I have four of those on my 33. I do not know where to get direct replacements. Does Mike Quill know?
A marine stainless tubing fabricator might be able to weld a 1/2” tube to a fabricated flange at the appropriate angle. The tube can be long enough to meet the fitting on the gate stanchion. It would be more structurally sound than the original and would be stainless rather than chrome plated bronze.

Hi
When I repaired the decks on my 1981 30, I replaced all the bases and saved the originals. I am traveling this week but will look for them when I get back next week.
I will get back to you to confirm.

Ed - You might want to just have the bases stripped and powder coated. It will save you a lot of effort re-doing new holes etc. You can pick a lot of colors like grey that wouldn;t be too noticeable.

I have used Klacko Marine before, Doug has many old stanchion bases in stock. He can also make anything from scratch.

Have you inquired at a chrome shop? I have had small parts rechromed quite inexpensively in the past.

Hi Ed,
I agree with Paul and recommend you check out plating shops.to replate your stanchion bases. When I went through the refit of Toyger I had all the stanchions and bases re-plated in 2015. I found a local plating shop and I can’t remember how much I paid but I remember it was reasonable and much cheaper than buying all new. Plus not having to deal with filling the old hole pattern in the deck and re-drilling a new hole pattern in the deck was further incentive to replate because I couldn’t locate any new ones that matched what I had.. The shop did a great job and 7 years later they still look new. If you don’t have any local plating shops in the vicinity then you might give Klacko Marine or Stainless Outfitters a call. They both did work for Hinterhoeller and if they don’t plate themselves will probably be able to recommend someone that will do a good job. Good luck.
Cheers,

Hi Ed
I located the stanchion bases that I had removed from my 30C and unfortunately they are showing their age as well but I have attached a pic.
If you or any one else are interested in them please let me know. I have sold the boat and do not have another.

David,
Those are bronze all the bases on my 1986 are stainless. Do you have a complete set or just those four? I would love to replace all of ours with bronze, but someone else might have bronze and need replacements, they should get first crack at your bronze bases.
