storm sails

Hello
When I bought my nonsuch 36 several years ago, it came with what I assume is a storm sail. Ive never had to use it but decided I ought to know how to rig it just in case and not figure it out if the time came I did need it. I researched the old discussion group conversations and all I can find is people saying a separate storm sail track is nice (I don’t have one). I figured out a way I might rig it but wondered if anyone actually knows how to rig it. I placed it in the middle of the boom aft of the mast. I have an accessory halyard to hoist it and otherwise tied it off at the tack to the portion of the mast that secures tack of the main sail and then ran a line from the clew, aft to the end of the boom and off the ring that holds the main sheet block. I have no idea if that is correct or not. I did all this at the docks so I don’t know how it would sail with this configuration. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Are you sure it is a Storm Sail and not a Riding sail that is rigged when at anchor to help limit boat swing at anchor?

Now that I look at a picture of a riding sail, I think you are correct. Thank you for solving my mystery. The photo I found shows where it’s supposed to go. I haven’t used one before.
