Does anyone have recommendations or experience with surveyors in or near Lake Superior, specifically in the Washburn, Bayfield, or Apostle Islands area?

My experience in CT is that the best I could do is get a surveyor with lots of experience with older fiberglass sailboats. There may be more options on Lake Superior.
In addition to having a good surveyor, their are some Nonsuch specific details that you can check yourself. The “Advice for potential buyers” is a great place to start. Also questions and photos sent to this group yields lots advice.
For me it was mast step, transmission, leaky waste tank, some corrosion where stainless was in-contact with stainless, and some bad barrier coat/keel joint. No deal breakers and no regrets… but always better to enter the relationship with eyes wide open.

If you don’t get a suggestion from someone closer, try calling Harris & Ellis Yachts and asking them for a recommendation. They know Nonsuches extremely well, as one of the original dealers, and have a branch in Georgian Bay, which is relatively close to Lake Superior (or feels that way from here in California).
