If you don’t mind people reading and replying to your post while you are still developing it, then no special action is required. I think that’s where this request started.
Yes, you can edit someone else’s post in Discourse, but your ability to do so depends on your user role and the settings configured for your community:
Moderators and Admins: Staff members (moderators and admins) can edit any post on the site without restriction. This is intended for moderation and content correction.
Regular Users: Regular users can only edit their own posts, unless a post has been marked as a “wiki”. Wiki posts can be edited by users who have reached Trust Level 1 (by default) and above.
Post Edit Notification: When someone other than the original author edits a post, a pencil icon will appear, and the edit history is visible.
(Note - marking it as a wiki is not the same as having it in the Wiki category.)
